Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I was waiting for one of you manufacturers to chime in on this subject.
Having worked in the product/liability field for almost 30 years, I positively cringed every time someone posted about happily taking a hacksaw to their poles.
As an engineer, I also had to wonder if this "trimming" didn't change the rating or performance of the pole by lowering the sailpiece?

It was stated several times in several posts! You need to look back a page to see that one. By the way, the 2 moderators of this part of the board work for the largest maker of track and field equiptment in the world and one is an engineer and the other is a vaulter of 21+ years.
