bending poles

Unread postby saraf » Tue Jan 18, 2005 6:04 pm

if I had a tube of poles, and I put both ends on a saw horse and put a heavy weight on it and it bent it down a good amount. Would that damage the poles if i left the weight on it for 2 days?

Thanks

Sounds like this may have already happened. Kind of like going to the doctor and asking "Oh by the way...I have a friend who has this burning itch.... any idea what it might be?"

It probably depends a lot of how much the poles were bent, temperature, age of the poles, etc.

I think it's possible the prebend could get messed up.

You might get a type of pre bend not lined up with where it should be. Creating a pole that may twist in your hands. I know PVJunkie mentioned this could happen if the poles were stored incorrectly. I don't have any idea how long this would take to occur. My gut feeling is 2 days probably isn't long enough.

so does anyone think it is extremely weird to have pole "socks" (i'll call them that as opposed to another more inappropriate term)

If you see adam and his poles in the near future, be sure to check them out.
