Taste Great - Less Filling
The Old Pacer Carbons do weigh more than the current Carbon FX poles - now - you can also make the pole lighter by going to a larger mandrel size - less glass bigger diameter - but still need to keep enough wall thickness for the unexpected - safety margin - now - if you have a pole with a smaller mandrel size - and it is lighter - say a 5m pole that is less than 5 lbs - with same bend characteristics, percent ovality under load - end load forces at bend - that would be something - or as stated tongue and check elsewhere on the board - fill them with the special lighter than air gas.

Plant like crap sometimes ok most times
carbon poles
My guess is that many vaulters are looking for a lighter and more responsive pole but less expensive compared to the traditional pole manufactures (aka pacer & spirit) that dominate the marketplace. Yea, favorite brands are nice (like buying coffee or a car) but i would settle for something less expensive if it provides the same quality controls.
Sounds like Essex and few other pole companies are trying to break into the pole vaulting market with, pardon the pun
, stiff competition.
