It was great pole worked for 4 weeks.
THEN the pole became Defective and broke????
Jumped my best ever by 2 feet and was able to move my grip up a foot.
THEN the pole became Defective and broke ????
The school bought the pole last year never used maybe once. First time I jumped on it it broke>
Loved jumping with the pole practiced alone no one to catch my pole.
It was geometric break at 3'4" up
Pole was defective my engineering teacher told me!
I travel light I do not store the poles in a tube , I stick them all in one big tube. We fly all over take 8 poles to each meet for two vaulters. Two poles broke when at an away meet right in the same place??
I was warming up on a pole I used last year. It was great then it failed me after 1 year it must be replaced it was defective.
My pole tip lasted 6 weeks then blew out I want a replacement it was defective. You have to air them to me overnight need them for meet tomorrow.
I got a personal record on the pole but the first jump I took it broke?
Used this pole for a month it was great jumped my best , then it was defective and it broke into 5 pieces?
My team mate jumped on the pole he weighs 20lbs more than me. He really bent the pole in half and did not break it. Pole was ok I used the pole for another week and then it broke?? Must be defective??

some of you may be familiar with this drill, i just learned it a week ago and am now afraid to try it:
on a tile or smooth mat floor, face the wall with the pole tip in corner of floor and wall and end resting in top hand, then lean towards wall, bend pole to one side, turn around, fall on ground, and let pull push you forward and push off of it. well my coach showed it to us i thought it was cool, though a weird position to be bending a pole, didnt look unsafe. well then he wanted to have a competition so he grabbed at the very top, reallly leaned into it, and *CRACK* that sucker snapped with a piece or two flyin. the grip part whacked him in the arm and a flying piece hit a girl in the stomach where she got a nice welt. it was a 140 lb. pole and he weighs something like 160. now it scares me to even try it with a pole at or above my weight.......

Got another this morning
Got another this morning Guy calls and talks to me about a pole breaking and describes that it was 3'4" up the pole (see above post for the reason)
After about 15 minutes of talking and seeing if I can sell him another, he then says that the pole was 14'9"??
We do not make a 14'9" pole??? he must be talking about a 14'7" pole.
After Another 5 minutes it is finally revealed he was talking about another brand

GASSES in the vaulting pole? HUMOR
GASSES in the vaulting pole?
I got a call about poles last week!!
Sorry I could not resist I had to tell the coach to call Pacer as they are the only ones who could put that gas back in LOL
OK no I did not send him to GILL but was tempted LOL
I explained that we had better gasses in our ESSX poles !!
OK I just explained to the coach that this was not a fact LOL ANd that the pole felt softer due to the increased experience and that his vaulter was getting better
Hey an increased amount of Confidence bends poles too you know!!
I got a call about poles last week!!
" We have a Pacer FX it works wonderful, however after several vaults the pole is seams like it is softer for the vaulter? DO you think that because we lost the plastic lid on the top of the pole that the special gas inside the pole to make it work better is all gone?
Do you sell that? Or do I need to call Pacer??

Hey Essx Man are ESSX poles made with different glass than Spirits or Pacers?
My friend broke 3 poles his senior year in high school. One was an essx (possibly chipped on a standard) The other was an essx (broke into 3 pieces on first use out of the package) The other was another new essx (broke his wrist at the final day of the California state meet.) We were both jumpin on this 14'6' 170-something in the winter, liking it... Another guy jumped on it- it broke. I owned a essx 14- 173 but I jump on 15's so I let someone borrow it (he weighs 145) and broke that a few weeks ago.
Whats up with essx?

If you guys are breaking that many poles in that short of time, then you need to look in to how your vaulting instead of what your vaulting on.
I got four seperate types/brands of poles that broke as a result of hitting the standards. One of each; spirit, essx carbon, pacer III, and pacer carbon. They all look the same, except the obivious color difference. I also have many other broken poles, and one of my coaches told stories of guys breaking old steel poles.
The bottom line is, any pole will break if mistreated or misused.

The person you are talking about Tim Warner just bought two more from me. So you need to find out why he loves them so much!!!!
(PS he did not break his wrist???? ANd he sat on his pole at the state meet in a warm-up jump!!)
