Rockets

Unread postby Ins0mnizac » Tue Mar 09, 2004 7:13 pm

Ok i have a 14' 155 pacer (that i used last year) and a 14'6 155 pacer but my school also has a 13'6 170 rocket. I weight about 152 and was wondering what your guys oppinion would be on what i should use. Has anyone ever used a rocket and are they decent poles. I would like to hold at the top of the 14'6 by the end of this year but do you guys think it would be easier to clear 14'6" - 14'9" on a 14'6 pole at a weight rating at my weight or a 13'6" pole 20 pounds above my weight.

USING THE RELATIVE resistance

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Tue Mar 09, 2004 9:34 pm

USING THE RELATIVE resistance chart made by JAn Johnson at his site skyjumpers below

http://www.skyjumpers.com/articles/reli ... _chart.htm
POLE #36*********14' 155 = 14'6 145
POLE #37 13'6 170=14' 160= 14'6 150
POLE #38*********14' 165= 14'6 155

you will get your answer when youmove through the poles.
But the 14'6 pole wil be the stiffest

If you are jumping 14'6" I think you will have fun jumping on the 13'6" pole as it will give you more power. And the experience will allow you to progress to a 14 165 with comparable technique. The 14'6"-155 while it is relatively the same will not give you the push off the power poles will.

OH an yes a ROCKET IS A well made pole

I believe both Gill and Altius made them at one time. No idea who makes them now or what years either manufacturer made them.
