Effect on stiffness of the pole gripping down?
I'm jumping on a 13' sky pole rated at 175lbs the next biggest pole is a 14-6 170 pacer. Anyone know what weight it would be holding 13-6?

Rough rule 6" down is 10 lbs so a foot down is 20lbs -- note: Euler's Equation would say 19.1 lbs

Not that I am questioning your results or your reasoning in deriving it, but what does Euler's equation have to do with a linear quantity of the weight rating on a pole?

One of the Neo Vault videos has a great section with Bob Slover on relative grip height to stiffness ratio. Very neat.
