Heat affecting Poles

I have been searching for this and I cant believe that someone has brought it up. The only reason I bring it up is that I ran into a coach at a clinic that made the claim that poles soften up in warm weather. This maybe a claim in the midwest, were we can have 30 degree swings in the spring. I have a hard time believing that fiberglass is that sensitive.

So the big question, are the temperatures that would affect a vaulting pole so extreme that there is no possible way to pole vault?

So that is why my pet rock hasn't touched his water in 3 years.
What does seasonal change in temp do to vaulting poles? Is there an optimal life span for poles? Being that they are made out of glass will they warp and change over time?
