Maybe its just because i started learning how to REALLY vault on them, but altius poles always seem smooth to me. I never feel the sail piece at a certain point, everything is just smooth during the whole vault, the way it should be.

Altius poles have a narrower gauge than other brands. My athletes haven't complained that they are any heavier than others. We've used them for 2 years now.
