Diving

Unread postby dont_touch_my_pole » Thu Jul 28, 2005 6:14 pm

Ok, I know this sounds like a weird Subject 4 a pole vaulting site, but my coach told that diving (like the sport) and pole vault are basic the same thing (muscle-wise and stuff). Has anyone else heard this and if you have...tell me if u think its true.....and if u haven't heard it before tell if u think its true too. :D

umm could be? perhaps the transition from a pike position to your position for the dive is similar to that of an inversion to bar clearance...

There's no running involved in diving. The run is a really crucial aspect of the pole vault.
