There are a few posts on here about who has broken a pole and stuff. Who here hasn't broken a pole? A different spin on the same topic pretty much.

I havnt, but its gonna happen eventually. a few times this season iv got about as close as you can get without actually breaking the pole though
I had a beat up old 14' 170 the other day, and we heard the thing cracking when i took a jump on it

one time I didnt get into the pit... so i held on like they tell you and I ended up over the box and i dropped straight down rebending the pole like 90 degrees again. i let go and the pole recoiled like 20 feet into the air and since it didnt have a box guard thing the pole had snapped against the side of the box a foot frm the bottom. But that doesnt count.

im not saying you should try to, but breaking a pole is a part of the sport. you show me one elite guy who hasn't broken a pole. its bound to happen is you bring a good run and high plant. russ has broken one at each of the last 2 trials. i met earl bell right after my season ended when i broke a pole and sliced my hand open for about 2.5 inches, he said he has broken over 30. it just happens.

Like VTechVaulter says, breaking poles is part of the game. It can be an expensive habit to get into so try not to add up many frequent flyer miles there. You can do everything EXACTLY like you need to and still break a pole. We had it happen after someone spiked a brand new pole of ours in warmups several yrs ago.
Up until yesterday my 16 yr old son Conrad had not broken a pole. When he broke it I told him he just entered the "Awe Crap Club". As in,
"Awe crap, they just broke another one of my poles!"
One of my 8th grade girls also broke one of my poles recently... impressed the heck out of me. This girls gonna be good.
