I went from 7'6" to 10'6" in a year. I got there by training year round at a club, and working very hard.

That was almost 4 years ago and I still jump 10'6" hmmmm :(

I went from not clearing a single bar in 7th and 8th grade to jumping 12' in 9th grade.

I had a 2'9" improvement from 8th grade to freshman. A pole that fit me, skyjumpers camp, and probably grew a bit. That definetly helps

I went from 9', and no heighting at state one season, to 11'1 and winning state the next season. What did I do to accomplish this? I went to Earl Bell's camp which I would strongly recommend to anyone who hasn't already been- it's so different, and just plain awesome. O yeah, and Lon's out there too... (haha Lon! I win!). I also started training with Bobby Haeck down in Clermont, Fl! Yay for Coachie! I can attribute a lot of my success to EB, Lon, and Coach Haeck; they teach a different theory, and if the normal way of coaching isn't workin for ya, try theirs... it just might click for ya!

The first meet of my junior year I set a PR of 10'. A year and a few months later I made 16'9. Ate, slept and dreamed pole vault. If my coach told me that I would get better by doing somersaults, I would have done it all day everyday. Yeah, I was obsessed.

Heres the progression of all my PR's

EMU relays: 10'0 (1997)
Home dual: 11'0 (1997)
Home dual: 11'6 (1997)
Tecumseh Relays 12'0 (1997)
Home dual: 12'6 (1997)
Pickney relays: 13'0 (1997)
SEC conference 13'6 (1997)
Oxford Relays 14'0 (1997)
NC junior olympics 15'0 (1997)
Reno PV summit 15'2 (1998)
Siena hts invite 15'7 (1998)
Albion MITCA 16'1 (1998)
USATF junior nationals (16'3 (1998)
USATF Junior nationals 16'9 (1998)

NO PRS FOR TWO YEARS......

SWT relays 17'4.5 (2000)
Texas Invite 17'8.5 (2000)
ACU classic 18'0.5 (2000)
SLC conference 18'1.5 (2000)

Havent PR'ed since then......Had a couple "unofficial" 5.50+ jumps this summer at the Lone Star Pole Vault Ranch "JUMP" series.

Retain faith that you will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties.
