MY friend and the inventor of the nofzinger crossbar ring Passed away Saturday
Ron Nofsinger


Ron Nofsinger, 50, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, March 31, following complications from a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4 at 11 a.m., at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home at 14275 Blackbob Road, Olathe, KS with a visitation Tuesday, April 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Ron was born on February 1, 1957 to Betty and Elmer Nofsinger in Plainville, KS. Ron grew up in Liberal where he excelled in athletics and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Liberal. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1975. He attended Kansas State University on a track scholarship. Ron was a longtime fan of K-State football. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in construction science engineering. Ron married Kim Fowler in 1988 where they started their family in Spring Hill, KS. He later moved to Overland Park and pursued a career in construction and development. A devoted father, Ron gave much of himself in coaching baseball and helping his children and others in racing go karts. Ron leaves behind a son, Dylan, a daughter, Morgan, his sister Sue Wall and her husband Brent Wall, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Well loved, he will be missed by all who knew him. The family requests donations be given to a trust fund to be established in Ron's honor to benefit his children.
