heat or cold

here is a good question , now that is summer i was wondering what people like better, Jumping in the heat like upper 80s- 90s or rather in the 60s 70s, i havent figured out what i like better yet, what do you peeps think

Anything is better then the wind I have to jump in at Ellensburg...but probably I like the upper temps around 80.

Cold is jumping in low 40's or high 30's - cool is 50's - 60 and 70 is nice - 80 is warm - 90's is hot -

Now this is hard one since you never know what the weathers gonna be like here in Indiana esp in the spring. A lot of times it gets really humid in the summer and I always have to keep a towel around so I can wipe off. The best weather around here is prolly lower 70's and not very humid. Our first meet back in early April was around 65 or so and then the next meet the following week it was 38 and light rain at the end of the night! Shows how the weather is here in Indiana

New Englans weather by far is the worst, all i can say is that New England weather suks, this spring i had about 4 outdoor meets actually outside in about 40-50 degree weather with tons of head and cross winds, it suks here but oh well only makes us new engalnders stronger i guess

I have jumped my best this summer in 95 degrees. I jumped 15'7" today (second best jump all-time so far) In blazing heat. I like the heat.

i live in florida so it's really really hot and really really humid ... it sux when you first get out to the track, but i find that my body adjusts to the heat and its not so bad ... i'd rather jump in the heat than the cold tho :yes:

on a side note ... i've been training since last summer nonstop, so i was a little burnt out, so i took about a month off after states ... is that bad? has anyone else done this?

well, i like jumpin in 70-80+ range, but my best two jumps of the season came in like 45 and rain for sum reason, lol. though my "best" isnt much, so i dunno how much that counts for, heh. though pretty ,much our whole season here in MI is like 30-60, and rainin like 2 or 3 days a week, and usually windy. Yeah, weather this year sucked..

Be glad you didn't go to school up at MTU in houghton, mi (basically as far north in the U.P. of michigan you can go).... The weather is so bad there, we didn't vault outdoors all year round. We still have banks of snow melting at the end of May. Sure we'd go to Wisconsin for meets, where the temp would warm up to a nice 40deg if we're lucky! .....And we had to walk 30miles, uphill both ways to get there too.... yeah so anyway..lol

the warm weather downstate MI is much easier to deal with!!

Even though heat seems to drain energy, I think you run faster in heat. So I would have to say heat.

lol, that sux, but in my opinion weather THIS season didn sound much better than that..

my last 3 meets of the season, it either started pouring rain, or got so cold that it threw my steps of so bad that i cudnt even jump, i just had to run through all 3 attempts. :confused:

heh, not a great way to end ur season either...
