i've got a 15 foot pole

put the pole in the hole

ride the pole

take a shot at the bar

jump off the ground and onto the pole

don't break your pole, it hurts

those are all the ones i know

Our coach always says
"It's not cocky, it's confidence, but its only confidence if ya got something to back it up"
and
"Penetrate and Bend!"
Then because our team is weird we name our poles he'd ask us our poles name then say
"Find Javier's soft spot and use it! Bend him to your will!" (Javier is my pole)W

We're also trying to get the throwing coach and our vaulting coach to agree to let us get shirts that say on the front (for throwers it'd say you got the poles we got the balls)
You've got the balls, We've got that poles
Put 'em together and we go all the way...

on the back.
...to state.

Once, when someone's hands slid, one of the guys said, "Stick to the pole like a fat man's spandex!"

lol...I  that quote. :P

Since last year, we did a trophy at our place. One of our athletes is Rianna Galiart. The best female jumper from Holland at this moment.
the first year (2009) it was only for our own athletes (about 22), but in 2010 we want to have the best jumpers from Holland to visit our trophy.

12 minute report of the 2009 version

Every year we want to make a Tshirt with a quote.
last year we kept it simple and made this shirt:

Back

Richard Coté was the 2nd best jumper of Holland (now at 8th place in the all-time list) and is/was our coach.

We've found some exelent quotes for the next year trophy in this topic! so thank you!!!

Just caught up with this -Just to put things in perspective. John Magee was an Anglo American pilot flying Spitfires in the RAF. He was aged 19 when he was killed in a flying accident on December 11 1941. Wonderful that his thoughts still reverberate around the world - it has always been one of my favourite pieces. :deadrose:

Our coach always would use the saying..(talking about planting the pole)

"Butt cheek to cheek, Extend, then row row row your boat"
Go high or go home

A friend and I use the term "hips to nips" when reffering to a long swing on the highbar.

It worked pretty successfully to get him to use ALL of his abs to swing, rather than just barely lift his hips with his lower abs and leg swing, and I use it as a que to him whenever he doesn't use his abs while vaulting
Hips to nips
