Using emoticons

Unread postby kmonty51 » Tue Oct 02, 2007 1:01 pm

How do I use the emoticons? When I click and drag one, it gets put in the post, but also includes a word description along with it.javascript:emoticon(':o')
Oops

See what I mean? What am I doing wrong? I want the emoticon without the "...javascript: etc., Oops" stuff.

If you just click on the emoticon you want, it's "text place holder" will be placed at the end of the text, like this

Then if I type some more and want one here ;) I click it.

If you decide you want to add one in the middle of some already typed in text, just click the icon. Then look at the end of the text and cut and paste the "text place holder" to where you want the icon to be.

You can experiment with this and see how it will display by clicking on the "preview" button below the text entry box. It will display what you have entered, but it won't post it until you click on the "submit" button. You can edit your post be changing it in the box where you originally posted your topic.
