Is there any rule for how far away the sides and back of the pit need to be from the wall? especially in high school.
One of the local high schools in my area has a setup with a roll out runway, all the necessary pads and everything, but the mats go right up against the wall in the back. Of course the wall is padded but I was wondering if this was legal/safe.
Thanks

Re: Indoor Pits, Distance from Walls
There isn't a specific rule about it, the wall just needs to be padded. They should use padding that meets the ASTM standards for wall padding if they want to cover themselves in the event of a lawsuit.
