You are doing some good things but you need to push your run out to at least 12 steps - consider 14 - and get on bigger poles, Also try and get better film - strains my old eyes looking at this quality.

 ok any suggestions for doing that or just wing it? i know my marks etc. but i havnt been at 6 or 7 for at least 3 months. i feel like i should just work on my approach doing towel drills then moving to the run way. thanks again for the help! ill try to get better quality stuff too.

Agree with Altius, you need to be running from much farther. Add 12' to your run, that's a good start. Make sure you're using DJ's midmark chart.

As for your technique, it looks like you've improved your pole carry, but the tip is still dropping just slightly too low before the plant, and the left arm is a little too low as you carry. Wait longer before you start dropping the pole tip so that gravity do a little more of the work. The pole tip should accelerate into the plant motion.

No

Yes, but this should be corrected with your pole carry and plant motion in order to better position the hips. There is no benefit to trying to delay your turn.

If you carry the pole tip a little bit higher and keep your bottom arm in close to your body before you plant, and take a quick, straight line with the plant motion, the bottom arm will be higher at takeoff and your pole angle will improve. The result is smoother pole rotation, more room to swing -> more powerful swing -> hips go higher. TAH DAH! - hips are over the top hand before you turn. Focus on active pole drop and plant.
