Me Vaulting this spring

Unread postby Hath » Wed Nov 18, 2009 12:34 am

Hey, I used to vault in HS. Now I coach and get some vaulting in when I can. I've been injured for over a year, but I decided to get a couple practices in when I was feeling well enough this past spring. Here's a video of me attempting 12'6'' on a 13' 165 pole, and I weigh ~130. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGhJLTIV8CE

Any comments are appreciated.

I'm not gonna hit on the run and take off, because those are always going to need work, with just about any vaulter.

Try to put more pressure with your hands upward and forward at the plant. It keeps your hips back and your body vertical just long enough to finish your take off. Should give you a lot more penetration.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph
