Weak takeoff. Almost touches the ground when swinging to the chord of the pole. In fact, when you watch the 4.80 clearance, the tip of the pole goes down immediately after takeoff, and the other jumps are not much better. A polebreak waiting to happen.....

Grip is wide, and he's carrying the pole a bit low, and behind himself, and his plant is also a bit behind himself. It seems the standards are pretty close to zero, and the bailout is not pretty. The latter could make headlines, and should be addressed ASAP.

His speed and agility is very good, and he got guts (perhaps too much, that might make it a bit unsafe).

I also agree with golfdane. As a little side note I am the guy that is catching his step and possibly his pole. Nothing against this vaulter but I have to say that it took all of my courage to stand there and not run for the hills each time he took off. I have never been that close to a guy that was running that fast, holding that high and vaulting that scary. I thought for sure I was going to either have to catch him or get hit with pieces of his pole in my face every single jump. At the time I thought it would have been a great video for Gill (Pacer carbons) to use to prove that their poles are as tough to break as spirits if there are no flaws in the pole, I just couldn't believe he didn't break his pole on every single jump. He did have a great day for him but as I followed his carrier after that meet I noticed how inconsistent his results were and the many injuries that followed him. Simply put I guess better technique would serve him well.

Yes, it does indeed look much safer. He actually has a take-off, and that adds so much more polespeed, that the pole looks safe (and the vaulter as well). His bailout is fine.

He's still carrying low (right hand is just about navel height on most of the run). Turning the pole during the plant with his left hand very much behind himself, and right hand almost touching his body. He's consistently a foot to a foot and a half under. On some attempts (the last 2), he's pushing of on a pole that hasn't yet passed vertical.

Fix the pole carry and plant, and good stuff might happen.

I am not sure if Adam is even vaulting anymore... haven't heard anything about him recently to be honest...
