Hi i am new to this site, I am a senior in highschool and have been vaulting for two years, after pretywell teaching myself how to vault a couple years ago i got my pr of 11 6 on a 13 ft pole this year i have been having a local coach come help me here and there but do to shortage of time i havnt been able to get a lot of practice. this year i have went from blowing through a 13 6 155 skypole to now jumping on a 14 160 and I am still only getting 11 6 I have videotaped a couple of jumps at practice and would love all the help you can give. I know my trail leg and drive knee are terrible but i dont know what drills i can do to fix that. I am having a terrible time of getting inverted. below is a link to go to my videos on youtube, i have two videos on there. In both I dont have much pit penetration but that is not normally a problem for me. I am mainly looking for some help on getting inverted and also pulling and turning

Before you worry about your inversion, pull, and turn, you need to worry more about your run, plant, takeoff, and swing!

The whip/hinge drill on the highbar (or rings) that PP (or Amy) demonstrates will improve your knee drive and trail leg swing tremendously.

we dont have a highbar or rings so is there any other options? I had my run and plant down pretty good but some of it has tended to go away because i have went to only working on getting inverted

Find a tree with a straight branch, or get a chin-up bar, or go to a playground,

I underlined the part where you just diagnosed yourself!

Recognizing or identifying a technical flaw is the first step on the road to recovery!
