My season's been going pretty well, but I really want to make districts (which is 12'6" where I am) and I was just curious what critique other people might have of my vault. In the videos,
-13' hand grip
-14' 160lb UCS
-Bars are at 11'6" (Make) and 12' (Not Make)
-My PR is 12' at the moment
So I know that me being under is terrible and I'm doing a lot of running drills (20,20s, pole runs, slide box, etc) to get back to taking on. I've been also doing a lot of fly aways from 3s to get the feel of swinging into an inversion. I also know my hand grip is fairly large, but I have big shoulders and it bothers me to have it smaller (I'm working on it, but it's taking some time). My swing and inversion still haven't come through yet and I'm hoping to break off of the technical wall I've hit.

So, fire away! What do you think?

Re: Some Video
Using the KISS principle -all you have to do is drive your shoulders towards the pad as your hips start to swing up. It will make a huge difference to your performance.
However you need to get someone to clear all of the spectators away from the runway - that is simply ridiculous for a competition!

Re: Some Video
Haha, yea that was from our relay event and we had girls and guys jumping at the same time on our two pits, and the guy's pit got very crowded!
And yea, I've been working on some better shoulder actions, I go between not moving my shoulders back at all to getting close to inverting, but it still hasn't "clicked" for me yet.
Also, thanks for the advice!

Re: Some Video
Try replicating the shoulder action on the high bar and/or a rope. Then try to do the same thing in short run vaults, then scale it to your full run.
