Problem changing to a longer pole

Unread postby ohsvaulter » Wed Apr 01, 2009 11:21 am

I am 5'6 and weight about 150 pounds. So far I have been using a 12' 156 essx extreme pole and gripping at about 11'10 and i'm bending it nicely(if not overbending). Then my coach bought a new essx pole that has the same weight rating, but it's a 14'1 pole. I try to grip the newer pole at 11'10, but it seems as if my grip it too high when i could use that same grip on my older pole. So can someone please help.

What should I do? These are the only poles I have.
