End of season critique

Hey, this season has been pretty stagnant. My PR hasn't changed, however I've made lots of improvements on my run and plant (thanks to ladyvolspvcoach).

I think I need to get faster and stronger overall, but tell me what you think.

-Grip 12' 10" on a 14' 150lb UCS. Running from 7 lefts, bungee at 14'
-I really felt the recoil of the pole on this one

-Gripping 13' on a 14' 150lb UCS, running from 7 lefts. Bungee is at 14'
-I think I had a better run and plant.

Overall, I think I need to improve my plant, and drive the pole up still.
I'm 135lb and 5' 8.5"

Thanks for all comments!!!

Your left arm is pretty weak at take-off, and you seem like you're rowing right after you hit the cord.

Yeah I definitely need to work on the takeoff. However, how do you "drive the pole up" while still achieving a free takeoff? I feel like if I tryed to push with my bottom arm, I would load the pole up before completing the takeoff.

Anyone else got any other thoughts?

Thanks!

Sorry for the double post! I just found 2 videos of myself with slightly different takeoffs and plants. Which do you think is better?

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 7231&hl=en

It seems that in the first video, I have a more free takeoff, but the bottom arm is weak. In the second video, my grip is slightly wider, and I keep some more distance between the pole and my face. However the takeoff looks more flat?

I don't know, please tell me what you think!

Ed, I watched your jumps a couple of times and actually twice using my ears. I'm guessing the "bump" sound is when the pole hits the back of the box. On the first jump your take off foot was off the ground when the sound occurred. That tells me you are close to a free take off. The second jump the sound came when your foot was still flat on the ground, which indicates you were under. Based on that I would say the first was better than the second. Later..........Mike
