13-6 attempt...time for new pole?

Unread postby asniff » Wed Apr 16, 2008 6:44 pm

well heres a video of me attempting 13-6. I'm on a 14-6 158 essx and my standards are as far back as they go (31inches). it seems like my step is to far in and its causing me to be forced right into a swing up, notice my bottom arm too-it collapses,i think its because i'm under. up top i notice that i need to keep going back and get more inversion.
What do you guys think? i think i might be ready for a new pole too. I have a 15 160 spirit and a 14 170 spirit. which would u recomend?

i have actually used those two same exact poles. i was finally able to get on the 14 7 158 essx about a week ago and had my standards about 26 for that so then for the first time i tried using the 14 170 spirit and that was definitely a good change.
i was able to get in on it pretty good and it wasnt very hard but i wasnt blowing threw it at all. i kinda felt like the 14 7 158 became a little flimsy too when i held at the top and bent a little to much (idk if u feel the same way) so i say definitely try the 14 170 before u go on the 15.

yea the 14-7 158 feels waayyy to flimsy, i dont get any recoil off the top at all..i had a coach from the opposing team say that if i had my last step where it should be that the pole should have snapped, so i guess i'll get on the 14 170 then? and try and fix that step.
