when i was jumping everything felt fine and i felt like i went in good.... i was way over the crossbar and I usulay use 11'6 for entry height but i scrateched out at it after 3 tries just like this. is there anything obvious i did wrong to keep me from going over crossbar. . . standards are at 16in...

pole is 13' 155 holding 12'4 running from 6 step 70' with a 20mph head wind....

1. Where on earth are the standard base protectors?!

2. 20mph headwind usually means you need to make adjustments such as dropping your grip a few inches or using a smaller pole.

Sis cheep for standard protectors so we didnt get any... we tried to take some off another pit and put them on but they didnt fit. we also dont have that yellow cushion that protecks your head from the concreate around vault box... and the run way is a convayer belt from the rock corrie...

they dont call us SOUTEHRN lee for nothing! lol

I like your run and acceleration. You could do with shortening your last step and getting off the toe. But you didnt get in because you sucked your legs up after take off which raised your center of mass. Let your trail leg stay long through the swing.

And what in the world is a rock conveyor belt?

Umm I hope your head coach realizes the lack of protection makes your setup illegal and makes them liable should someone get hurt at your facility.

16 inches= 40 cm. Definately not a lot of penetration.

I see a lot of athletic ability. You lack speed (I'm pretty sure you are holding back some), but I sense that stems from worrying about slipping on that rubber belt (it looks wet). As others have said already. Tucking increases the speed with which you are able to get inverted. However, it also moves mass up the pole which kills pole speed, and lessens penetration.

I figured out at my meet yesterday that i have been keeping the standards way too close (16in) and i was forced to cut my trail leg so that i could get inverted befor i got to the bar. I had a meet yesterday and moved em back to 25 with a full trail leg and got over it fine. I also moved my stride back from a 6 to a 7 with a 13'6 160 and was having to crank the standards back because i was going in alot farther with the straighter trail leg.

Rock conveyer belt= rubber matt they used to move rocks with at a rock corrie. It is just a 150ft rubber matt about the size of a rubber runway... it is just smooth rubber on both sides and has something like a nylone piece in the middle to make it a little stronger.

Wow, it's really a quarry conveyor belt? That....rocks!..... It looked to me like you didn't quite get your plant down in time. Also, you didn't really hit a very free take-off, which kills a little bit energy.
