Im interested to hear what you guys have to say. Im curious to see how much of it is what i am already thinking, and new things you have to add. Tear it up!!
The sequence is 14'1.5, 14'7.5, then my 2 decent shots at 15'1.5 (third i didnt swing).
I was on a 14'3 16.3cm flex (175) for the first jump, gripping 13'9. any jump afterwords was on a 14'9 20.8cm (160) gripping at 14'.

thanks!

These are good jumps standard placement is the problem

On the 14'7" on you are peaking in front of the crossbar.
Correct me if i am wrong but it looks like you moved to a stiffer pole and you did not move the standards up enough to get your clearance on your attempts. Nice jumps with lots of potential you are very close to working it out

thanks! Yea i moved up a pole, but the thing is ive been on a pole bigger than that, and i usually progress through 2 or 3 poles during a competition. So with the thought that i should be blowing through this pole as well, as i had in every other meet, we didnt mess with the standards. Fact is, if he moved the standards to 60 or so, with my luck i would have blown through!! The one thing i saw was that i never really hit it off the ground like a should have, more like just going through the motions. If i had taken off like i should, would have blown through. Thanks though!

Did you check the depth of the box?

Did you check the depth of the box?
Wooden runways are notorious for not being as deep as normal 7 7/8" deep
And outdoor areas where they have added asphalt and then a layer of roll out runway the box can be as much as 9" deep.
When I use to go to meets for my vaulters this was the first thing I checked to see what poles are needed soft or really stiff ones. The deeper the box the bigger the pole you can get on. Several other vaulter had problems in the warm ups before they grooved. This might have been a contributing factor???

look very technically good on the pole

2 things on the run stand out. you are very tight in your arms and shoulders. might want to try to run ab it more relaxed. also. it appears that you have no real increase in stride frequency. could try to just pick your knees up in the beginning and accelerate through the box.

def ready to jump some bars though. looks good!

Thanks a lot guys! to essx, this may be true. I had only 2 meets indoors before this one, being at fayettevilles indoor (i hear one of the fastest runways out there) and simplot idaho (also a very fast runway). It might have been a little slower/shallower box than these meets. I still think i should have been able to get through, but thats just me knowing i should be on 175 poles not 160's! haha thanks a lot though.

To vtechvaulter, you are also right. I formed some bad habits of being tight with my run early in my vaulting career, and its actually better than it used to be! (used to have my elbow way up in the air, still do sometimes, but im starting to rebuild myself now that outdoor has started). As for the acceleration, thats a good point! I am not accelerating nearly like i should at the box, again i think i was being over-relaxed (AKA LAZY) at this meet for some reason. Thanks a lot for the tips though! later
