#1 priority for you right now, before everything that everyone else said (which was all good input) is that you have to stop pecking with the pole on the runway.
In other words, when you run there should be no forward and backwards movement of the pole. Your arms should be still other than maybe a SLIGHT bounce up and down with your stride.
Pecking causes inconsistency and is a loss of energy.
You could kill two birds with one stone and utilize DJ's chart with some pole runs thinking about not pecking and planting early.
A few boring weeks of that will improve your vault alot more than you would think.

Hmmm
That was interesting! You conveniently omitted the entire approach. Remember the vault is sequential. If you screw up the very beginning there is NO way you can effectively work on the end. As Vtech said you have to work on running with a "quiet" upper body and managing your pole descent smoothly once you have your posture "FIXED"

conveniently? had there been someone there to video my vault, i would have had them film my approach. as it was, i had to set my camera down, put a timer on it, run over to the runway, then vault, then come turn my camera off.
i'll work on my pole run then.
and Powerplant42 what do you mean by getting your trail leg down?
suck it up.
It looks to me like his pole is past vertical, blowing through. Would it help to raise his grip or get on a stiffer pole? That might slow pole speed a little and allow a little more time to keep that trail leg "down" and bring it more to vertical.(That's if the run up was OK.)

If it were further along, I would have to agree with slightly higher grip, but seeing as he is working on fixing things on the runway, blowing through a pole is not a bad thing.
Once things on the runway quiet down, then moving poles would be wise, probably even essential, as he will be more efficient at take off.

Thanks guys...
I'm workin on my run still.
The first video I posted is on my "warmup" pole, so i blow through it. But when i start out on that smaller pole, i find as i move up poles my form stays more consistent than if i just grab my competition pole and go at it.
I have practice tomorrow (weather permitting) and i'll have someone catch all my runs on video along with the jumps.
