Hi
I have been jumping since 2003 (13yrs old) but only on and off the past 3 yrs due to some other commitments I have. I have recently returned to training and have been trying to figure out what is wrong with my jumps but without success, then I found this forum and wishes to have a different comment other than my coach's on my jump.
Please advice me on what is wrong with my jump and what I should look out for and do to get a perfect jump. Thanks a lot!
im abt 172cm and 70kg. currently on a 14ft 145lbs, holding abt 2 handholds below 13ft. attempted 3.7m in this vid.

Re: please advice
Hi
I'm about the same age as you (14 years old) and I had the same problem. I see two issues; first one, keep your body upright when you're running (it will increase speed and it makes it easier to bend the pole); second thing when you go to the rockback position you need to shoot up not forward (It can be a little bit tricky if you are afraid) try to get paralel with the pole.
P.S.: I think you need to grip higher, you will bend the pole easier and it will help you go up

I cant remember the pole weightage, but the height is at 4.1m (~13.45feet). pole length should be at 14'6ft
and thanks baggettpv! i will go source for the book! hope i can get more advices in the meantime.

This jump was acctualy pretty good. You jump exactly the same way as I do. The only thing I can tell you is that you need to take off earlier just before you plant the pole.
