WEIRD pole break

Alright so...
I was jumping tonight at a dual meet when at my opening height (10'6") I missed my first jump and then my pole broke on the second jump.

It looks like its in a really weird place and is relatively close to the top, i don't think i've ever seen a break like this before online

Pacer
13' 6"
140 lbs
22.3 Flex rating
Broke 4 feet from top

5'6", 132 lbs, 11'6" PR

I have seen this several times over the years. On your first jump did the pole hit the standards or the crossbar? It was definately damaged by something and it fianlly let go. Breaks like that are usually the standard but I have seen run throughs where the pole slams the crossbar pretty hard too.

We are trying to budget some of those standard pads for next year......if they save one pole from the standards they are worth it.
