The problem with not fixing an "under" takeoff early in the season ... or early in your career ... is that the more you get used to being under, the more "normal" that feels. Then, when you try to move it out ... whether you want to or not ... your brain might ... and often does ... automatically "steer" you to that all-too-comfortable "under" mark.
It's a hard habit to break, so the sooner the better.
One good way to break this habit is to focus on vigorously JUMPING on takeoff. You should be doing that anyway, and that's a good way to "fill that gap" when you think you're in mid-air before the pole hits.
On the other hand, if you're UNDER, then it will be very, very difficult to actually JUMP on takeoff!
