I think it's funny that your analyzing weather or not you over analyze. I don't think it's a bad thing as long as the main focus is on the most important thing.
3 years ago and still sometimes now I know if I did not think of everything in the vault I would not do it. I would literally think shift to start my plant then jump, swing, stay tight to the pole and push. If I did not think shift I would not plant, if I did not think jump I would run right off the ground, if I did not think swing I would tuck straight off the ground, and if I did not think stay tight to the pole I would flag out. I still will never push down the pole unless I make a conscious effort to. However as long as I think them in that order I have no trouble thinking all of those things will vaulting. However if I only think of one thing I will forget to do the things to lead up to that point and there for not be able to work on the thing I want to focus on. Luckily though now as long as I focus on the pole drop and plant the other things happen much more automatically then they used to.

kcvault wrote:My hamstring finally felt good enough to jump again today. I stayed in flats and just focused on trying to jump over the pole at take off. This and trying not to throw my head made a bigger difference in my vault then anything else I have worked on this year. That being said I threw my head one time today and pulled some of the muscle's in my neck. Now I will not be able to vault for another 2-4 weeks but on the upside this is one technical flaw I don't think I will be making again.

Hahahahahaahaha
Oh wait, is it mean for me to laugh at that?
I am sorry you are injured, but way better to be that than your hamstring. Use this time to keep making the hammies stronger.

LOL. Good to see someone else has a warped sense of humor too.
