You could be under on the pole, if you look at your left arm in the first film you can see it's right in your face.

You shouldn't be trying to plant under... If your pole is too soft, you should have moved in a left, which probably would have helped.

Here are the things you should work on:
-Don't "pump" the pole on your approach, you do get nice high knees, but pumping the pole isn't good
-See if your coach can get you on a high bar, your swing could definitely be improved (you just tuck in your legs to try and rotate to vertical faster, which won't get you much higher, focus on a long and powerful swing to vertical)
-Also, how much stiff pole vaulting have you done? Doing a lot of 1,2, and 3 steps on a pole that doesn't bend is the key to getting high heights!

10-3 for eighth grade is still good though! Nice job!

thanks for the advise,, i just realized that planting under doesnt make me not bend as much. I had problems with that pole all year and i tried to get out as much as i could out of it. i had no other pole to use. I just went to the middle school state meet for ohio and everyone there was like he needs a bigger pole he needs a bigger pole and i didnt have anything else. So a guy came up and gave me a pole he had a 12 ft 125 my other pole was an 11ft 120. So i got three warmups and vaulted on it and got 10-6
