15' 6" Clearance Please Critique

Unread postby vaultnaked352 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 7:42 pm

I just got a 15'6 165lbs Carbon Fx. I am griping 14' 6 on it. I have had 16ft and 16.6 jumps in practice but i have been having penatration issues lately. Please let me know what you think. My strongest chracteristics of my jump are my plant and swing which you cannot see in the video, but please let me know anyway. Also i do not have a coach, so I have taught myself how to jump by watching a lot of Bubka and reading. ALso attending two USC pole vault Camps.

niiice jump! Jumping that high without a coach, and looking that good, is impressive.

Right now Your take off is strong, but under. Adjust your run back 6 inches, and make sure you have your hands over your head and not pushing, or rowing forward. That will give you more time to finish your take off. Hit your take off hard enough to send your trail leg behind you and your chest forward, THEN see how hard you can swing. You will blow through that pole no problem.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph
