So the guy jumps a new American Record and there aren't even any good videos of it
Anyway here are the best ones for technique I could find:

I would like to hear your thoughts on the technical aspects of this jump.
( and before anyone asks, I'm not that BradsDad)

I feel that on that particular jump he was a little under and puts his hands a little too far in front when he swings. In my mind that makes his swing a little more "two staged" with a swing... then pull. It's just not as continous as i have seen from some other 6m jumpers. It depends how he was jumping the rest of the day though, obviously when you get pumped you can hit 3-6 inches under pretty easily. He is a hard vaulter to critique though, being one of the best EVER.

why brad walker is a beat
1. Hes REALLLLLY fast
2. High hands and big chest drive without blocking the left arm
top of his jump is lacking a bit, but when you do the bottom that good, you get to jump high reguardless

PS: For anyone interested Pat Licari is an ex-athlete of mine from Sumner high and Highline Community College. He has done a very fine job of continuing his growth and development in the coaching profession too. Because of this I send all my high school athletes to UW because of his professional growth. Too bad others and of the same caliber!
