What do you think is the most important aspect in getting to poles 20 or 30 lbs over your weight?
strength? speed? jumping power?

def runway speed, high plant, good take off and knee drive. Although you say strength has nothing to do with it well i guess you could say this. But weight training will build power in ur take off, runway speed, push off, and the key word, CONFIDENCE! Weight training, sprint workouts, heavy pole runes, will def help u get on that bigger pole

What this means is keep the handgrip in the middle of the hand grip area ( 3" down and with in the 12" area)
POLE selection is crucial. Check out the pole calculator no matter the brand pole you buy.
Select a pole that is no taller than 6" than your Personal record,
example if you’re best is 12'6" use a 13' pole.
The object of pole vaulting is to use the pole to clear height than grip heights.
