recently I snapped my pole and now i have to get on another pole. The pole I'm trying to get on is the same weight as my old pole, but 6 inches longer. The problem is that I can't get into the pit and I dont know why. I know I haven't given much info, but can anyone help me out?

Go to the poles section and read through a few of those topics. This question has been answered several times. A 6" longer pole of the same wt. is approximatly 10lbs stiffer (at the same grip ht) as the one you broke.

Make sure you are holding at the same height as your old pole... if you were gripping the top of your old one, you should be gripping down 6" on this longer pole. And it will be stiffer, so if you weren't blowing through your old one, this may be a challenge.

Yes. Physics.
When you raise your grip it slows down the pole rotation - the speed which the pole is going to move you into the pit.
