Any suggestions for areas to work on would be helpful. This kid is a sophomore jumping at 13' (which is his PR) standards at 28'. He is on a 14' 145 weighing 132 lbs. and he is running from 6 lefts. Looks like there is no reason he shouldn't be jumping over 14' but every time he jumps in a meet the best he clears is 12'6 or 13'.

Re: Video Review Plz!
The first video is really the only useful. Video 2 is a bad angle and video 3 doesn't show the takeoff.
In video one, your vaulter appears to lunge into the last step which is making him be too close to the box at takeoff and hindering his ability to jump up, so his takeoff is flat. A better final step and takeoff will result in better pole rotation and eventually bigger poles and much higher bars.

Staying tall in the run, especially into the take off is essential. Energy needs to not be sucked into the box.
Fight the good fight: It's nice to be great but it's far greater to be nice.

Thanks for the posts. We knew about the step being off. The fantastic Illinois weather was wreaking havoc on the runway. I will try to get better video this week.
