Hey guys I'm brand new to this forum.. so cool though.. anywayy I have a question on preparing for meets. I am a sophmore male in high school. My pr is 11 feet. During practice I jump very well, almost clearing 12 foot bungees gripping 12 feet. I drop my shoulders, swing well and my takeoff is good and I am constantly going up poles very well. I weigh about 140 lbs and I am on a 13' 155 gripping 12'. Everything is going very well, but mostly during practice. My problem is I get realllyyy nervous right before a meet and start doing things I normally don't do in practice. Does anybody have any advice on calming down and getting focused on actually jumping well?? my last meet I did better than I have ( cleared 11' and my previous pr was 10') but I was still really nervous and not thinking about things well. Any tips on calming down?? anything would be appreciated!

I always said train as you will compete, then do yourself a favor and compete as you trained. It might be helpful if you spent one practice a week and run through exactly what you would like to do at a meet. Start at yu starting heigt and when you foul out you're done.
