Im a senior in high school and my pr is 14'0. Im jumping on a 155 15' Pacer 3 at about a 14' grip. I can hold 1 fist higher but after that its too soft. So my following pole is a 15'0 155 ucs spirit. Im getting ready for regionals and im trying to get on this new pole, i hate to admit it but jumping on this pole scares me, however that doesnt mean itll stop me. Any advice on what to do?

Get to know the pole, maybe take her on a date :D Just joking. Try some dry runs on an imaginary hole from your usual steps.

They are both 15' 155? I don't see the problem, or even why you are trying to switch. I could understand if they have different flex numbers, but they are different brands, so unless you flexed them yourself it is not really that big of a deal. There shouldn't be any confidence problems.

Well that is actually a two pole jump. Do you have access to a 15' 160 or a 15'6 150? Also, what is your height and weight? And how many steps are you coming from (lefts)

But if you have no other options I would wait until you are blowing though the 15' pole a lot (while gripping where you said it was way too soft.. one fist up), like landing really deep in the pit and hitting a bungey set all the way back to 90cm on the way up, then right after a jump you blow through that much, just grab the bigger stick and do it (with the same grip). You have to have confidence that the pole before it is way too small.

My run is 6 lefts, I am 6'0 and about 150 lbs. Thank you for the advice! Maybe i should wait a little longer to jump on that
