You think its possible to get that big of a pushoff with a pole only 5 pounds over my weight.

Oh yeah, I saw Jacob Davis jump 18'6 on a 14 foot pole one time.

Yeah we are...all in fun njvaulter. I know what chart your talking about though Kyle. I would say the list says roughly 13'8 for a 13'6 grip. Not to say someone couldn't jump higher/lower than that though. The list is a good training guideline that can give help you figure out your mids and such.

[color=blue][b]If you can jump at your handgrip with the pole in the box this would be normal.
Then without raising the grip find a way to use the speed of the pole and the Vault swing to gain a higher height. Once you start progressing in height you move to stiffer pole and inch the grip up proportionately.

Yes you can cheat the system and yourself by raising the grip higher right away and gain about 3â€Â

14' 140# pole = approx 13' to 13'6 grip.

13' grip should = approx 13' jump
13'6 grip should = approx 14' jump

13' is APPROX the break even point for grip and bar height. For every inch you grip above 13' you should be able to clear 2" higher. For every inch below 13' expect to clear 2" lower.
