Increasing grip height?

Unread postby mhsvaulter » Wed Apr 15, 2009 12:58 pm

Currently I am holding about 2.5' away from the top the pole and it is a 13'3" pole, and I can get some bend out of it...would slowly increasing how high my grip height help get me higher?

You should only increase your grip height if you have the standards at 31.5" and are knocking the bar off on the way up (landing deep in the pit).

Don't worry about the pole bending. Learn how to pole vault with good technique and the pole bend will take care of itself.
