Ann O'Keefe captures third regional pole vault crown

ST. JOSEPH - For the third time in four years, Dowagiac's Ann O'Keefe is a regional champion in the pole vault.


Dowagiac's Ann O'Keefe is a three-time regional champion in the pole vault.
O'Keefe will be joined at the state track meet on June 3 at Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern High School by Elijah Caldwell and the boy's 400-meter relay team.

O'Keefe cleared 10-feet to sucessfully defend her regional title.

Ann had the most structured approach of any vaulter at that meet, men or women. It was truly impressive to see her on the runway. :yes:

'Keefe fourth in pole vault at finals

Dowagiac senior Ann O'Keefe capped a brilliant high school career with a fourth place finish at the Division 2 state track finals at Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern High School on Saturday.

O'Keefe broke her own school record when she cleared 10-feet-9.

Lisa Krupp of Sparta won the event with a jump of 11-3. Becca Pilkerton of Dexter was second at 11-3 and Brandi Hagan of Forest Hills Northern was third at 11-3.

Krupp won the state championship based on fewer misses at previous heights.
