I know how talented Jake is, but I think 17'6" may still be out of his reach.....I am guessing 16'6" is the height....which is still no small task for a Junior in high school.

Well, for switching onto 5 bigger/longer poles in one day, running from 5 lefts max, not jumping with a crossbar since outdoors state, and getting second place, It was more than I could have expected! I am so happy! Sure it was only 10'6'', but I was pretty consistant, making everyone of my first attempts all the way till I got to 11feet, and for each of the 3 attempts at 11 I had to jump on a different pole, those were the best jumps of the day, and i'm satisfied....but next week my high school is coaching little tikes in the field house so I don't think it would be to much to put up a bar :D

We met Jake at the meet in Naperville this weekend. He got first and my son finished 2nd behind Jake. Jake is a good looking vaulter - well poised - tall and lanky with good speed coming down the runnway. He will have good results at the colllege level - Brian and I wish him well. Hope to jump with him in the future - he is a class act !!!!!!!!!!
