Hello this is my 2nd year jumping and my current PR is 10feet. This track season is soon to be over and I'm going to miss pole vaulting. I want to find somewhere to pole vault over the summer a bit and actually have an experienced pole vaulter help me out if possible.I don't want a very prestigous place or anything, just a relatively cheap(money wise) place. Where could I go a few times over the summer to get better on the off season?(I live in Streamwood, a suburb of Chicago).Thankyou!

We run a Pole vault camp out at Kaneland every summer from June 14-June 18 from 4-6. It's not to far from Streamwood. We get in a lot of jumps, do some different drills, keep it real low key, and ultimately just have fun jumping with a lot of other vaulters. You can register at http://www.kaneland.org/khs/athletics/S ... on2010.pdf

North Central also runs a great camp that you should look into. Coach Winder and his staff do a great job out there. http://northcentralcollege.edu/x4825.xml

Thanks I'll look into both of them. But the first link doesn't work :|. If you could get a different one it would be great.

On the right side click Summer Camps and Registration and it should take you to the application :)

Well I reallllly want to go to the north central camp, but it's about 45 minutes away and I don't have anyone who will be able to take me everytime. Plus sorry TinCup but the link still isn't working too well. It asks If I want to save or open the file and it ends up just bringing it to notepad. If there is anywhere else anyone could think of it'd be appreciated.

Did you try a different computer? I've opened it up on about 10 different computers over the last few weeks and it's worked everytime. It's a PDF file, maybe your Adobe isn't updated?

Quick fix: Try right-clicking on the link, then downloading it.

Permanent fix: Normally Notepad is usually only launched if the file extension is .txt. Notepad is not the normal default app for PDFs, but your PC seems to be defaulting to it. You can probably fix that by following the instructions on this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859 ... or one like it (if you're not using XP).

North Central College pole vault camps has a limit of 100 vaulters, or 25 per session. We have maxed out over the last several years. Some sessions are nearly full already. So if you want to get in the the camp, I'd try to do it as soon as possible.

Athletes who cannot attend every scheduled session, can make arrangements to double up on sessions, or attend on other days to get their time in. It is not ideal, but has worked over the years. The camp is 6 weeks long so there is time to make adjustments. The most important thing is that you get the number of hours of training that you signed up for, so arrangments can get made to shuffle things around a bit, if that is the only way you can attend.

There will be a vault camp/open jumping at Elmwood Park H.S. this summer. I am finalizing the dates, but it looks like Monday/Wednesday ~evenings and Saturdays at some point in the day, ~12. I'll know more this week.
