that annoying, repetitive sound that you're hearing in the background as you read this thread is the sound of a bullwhip- in case you couldn't pinpoint it lol

basically what's going on here, is that you are compromising your happiness to satisfy your girlfriend's almost borderline obsessive outlook on education... so wait, i don't get it- how do you come out ahead with that one?

think about it this way:
how many years are you in college? how many times will you go to class in those years? now calculate the percentage of class missed because of reno- not too significant

i wonder if your gf is making this big deal out of reno because of other reasons, like she doesn't want you to leave town, she wants to assert her beleifs to gain some control over things. i don't know your situation... so really i'm just adding another thing to talk about...? maybe...? or perhaps not...

I tried the math, it hurt my head. Basically.. JUST GO TO RENO!

Well, I am known as a ladies man, so heres some professional advice. You have a couple choices:

1. Drop her like the preverbial "bad habit"

2. Tell her you are going and if she gets mad, you will be mad right back for making you mad. This will boggle her mind.

3. Tell her if she gets mad because you are going you will utilize the little pamphlets that are everywhere in Reno and Vegas.

4. Go, and if she gets mad, every time she tries to start a fight, break down crying to make her feel bad.

5. Right before you go, buy flowers, make dinner, light some candles and elegantly slap her square in the grill.

6. Give her the choice: You either go with her blessing, or you are going to go and vault naked with her face tatooed across your left butt cheek.

... or the best choice:

7. Dump her and hook up with a pole vaulter chick. Yeah.

If anymore advice is needed, please feel free to PM me.

PS Just so no one flips out on me, I am joking... Kinda...

Things sound a little one sided not in your favor. What happens when you miss classes because you qualified for nationals? ;)

well, one of the first questions she asked was if any one else from my school was going, so perhaps if that was a yes, that would make all the difference. but alas, it was a no.

this is possibly the saddest most pathetic thing ive ever heard. your in h.s right? your not married, most likely you will not be married, and even if you were/are/whatever, piss her off anyway. its not like its a weekly thing anyway.
