you know, those are very good points, and I would HATE to miss this after getting my hopes up so much. So I will look into this more. When's the deadline again?

ok, what about rooms? anywhere in particular you guys are all staying at?

Becca, no, we do schedule months in advance, I just never thought about contacting the teachers ahead of time, I always tend to just find out everything on the first day of classes.

The only other issue, once again, is the process of getting poles for me to use. I know a lot of colleges don't like letting other school's kids use their poles due to liability, so if I do go, of course I'm going to compete, but how will I be able to compete if I don't have my own poles?

Everyone stays at the Reno Hilton. All of the Summit events are held in the hotel. There's a shuttle to and from the airport, so there is no need to worry about renting cars.

There is probably a link to the Reno Hilton website through the Summit page. If not, Google it.

it's 116 for a single or a double. So if I can find someone to room with me, that would kick butt. Anyone interested if I do go? lol

Then the only other question is if I'm going to stay until Sunday or leave Saturday. because if I leave Saturday, it saves the cost of that extra night....lol... but I saw on the schedule that competition is that day, so it really depends if I compete or not, which ONCE again, brings up the question about the poles.

I do NOT have my own poles. so unless I can get Coach Hoogasian from Holy Cross to let me borrow some of his poles for that time (and send them across america), then sure, I'll have my own, but you never know. lol. so unless like Lonestar, or Becca want to bring poles for me ;)

Was that the special Summit room rate? Usually it's more like $70 per night.

You definitely want to leave Sunday. You won't know until you get there when you compete. Last year the competitions went LATE into Saturday night. They are scheduled until 10pm, but some pits always run late.

OK, then I'll stay until Sunday

No, I don't think that was the special summit rate, I didn't see anything like that there, but I don't know the code to put it or anything

well, nevermind...as of right now I'm not going. Of course, like I figured, my girlfriend would say no to it because it clashes with school and she holds school higher than anything else.

She told me I have a choice if I want to go or not, but she told me if I chose to go she'd be mad at me...so how can I possibly choose to go if she'll be mad at me?

it is your duty as a boyfriend to piss your girlfriend off from time to time, especially when you are in high school. Any chick that comes between you and vaulting isn't really that cool anyway. You should just go anyway, she'll get over it. If she doesn't, you don't want to be with a chick like that.

I'm not in high school, I'm in college...lol... and I hate getting her upset.

Also, if I make her upset, I get upset too, so I'd be in a bad mood in Reno and wouldn't vault well, because I only do well when I'm happy and nothing is bothering me
