Actually there have been plenty of foreign vaulters at the summit...Ruhan Isim (TUR), Gildas Verbist (FRA), Christine Adams (GER), Doris Auer (AUT), Irie Hill (GBR), Piotr Buciarski (DEN), Dominic Johnson (STL), Simon Arkell (AUS), a whole slew of canadians & australians, etc.

Until a few years ago, foreign athletes could compete at the US indoor championships so the meet would be more competitive. Igor Potapovich "won" the US championship (the US gold actually went to the 2nd place finisher in this case) back in like '93 or so.

Yeah, ok, so I'd be going for High School. Thanks for that. Yeah I think Arizona will be represented very well. And I've heard of foreign vaulters competing there, it's a pole vault summit, not just a U.S. summit. Right?

I plan on attending along with a friend of mine, both vaulters. We'll be in the coaches division though, as we're both recovering from injuries, and will both be coaching high schoolers this coming spring. I really hope to meet up with a bunch of you while I"m there and just get to know some more vaulters from all over. I see that the Reno Hilton is the hotel chartered for this, are most of you staying there?? I've never been to the summit before but I'm excited to go.

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. - Muhammad Ali

Hey AZBoy....What is your P.R.? If it's anything around 16', we might be in the same college division.
