Tommy Skipper's 5.79 clearance has generated discussions about the all-time highest opening height. I assume Bubka would have that record. What is the highest he ever successfully opened at?
Who else has successfully opened at 5.80 or higher?

Maksim Tarasov has the WR opener with 5.90 (19-4.25).
Highest I've heard Bubka opening was 5.75. I'm sure he could have opened higher though.

If I am not mistaken Tarasov opened at 5.90 nearly every outdoor meet of the 99 season. He would have the meet won, make 6 meters and quit.

It has to be....Opening at 19' is crazy enough as it is, but having the height be a PR also, I dont' think it has ever happened.
