MOSCOW (Reuters) - After taking the sporting world by storm, world and Olympic pole vault champion Yelena Isinbayeva says she would love to be in the movies.

Isinbayeva has had a phenomenal year, breaking the world record nine times and becoming the first woman to clear five metres.

The Russian also won her first world title in Helsinki last month, setting the new record of 5.01. Now she wants to make her mark in Hollywood.

"I love challenges and trying out new things and I would love to get into acting, be in the movies," the bubbly 23-year-old told Reuters on Friday.

"I'd love to go to Hollywood and try it, of course only if it doesn't interfere with my athletics career."

Asked what kind of films she preferred, Isinbayeva said: "No drama or romance. I'd love to take part in an action movie but only if I get the lead role.

"Something in the style of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Let's call it Terminator 4."

Isinbayeva, who lists Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt as her favourite actors, has had limited experience in front of the camera.

The Russian has performed video clips for her athletics sponsor but is confident in her acting abilities.

"I think I can be successful there as well," she said. "I think I have enough charisma and personality to express myself on the screen."

SPONSORSHIP OFFER

Isinbayeva also said she had received a $1 million sponsorship offer from Russian oil giant Sibneft to be the face of the company.

"I don't know all the details but I've heard they contacted my agents," she said.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who owns English soccer champions Chelsea, is a Sibneft shareholder.

Turning her attentions back to pole vault, Isinbayeva said she had four more competitions left this year beginning with the duel between Russia and the U.S. in Moscow on Sunday.

"It has been a long season and there are still four more meets left. But as always when I go out to compete I try to break world records," she said.

Asked if there was a limit to how high she could vault, Isinbayeva said: "I just don't know what my limit is. But definitely no woman is capable of going over six metres.

"There are not many men capable of clearing six metres, that's why I don't think even 20 or 50 years from now it will be possible for women to do it.

"Not even next century. Ever."

If she wanted to make a film about pole vault...that would be ok...but other than that, I don't think I'm a big fan

Dream on Yelena.
Hollywood is a tough egg to crack. I think that she is letting the fame go to her head with this one.
And a Lead role only.......thats alot to ask, and I'm pretty sure a lead role in a film would cut into your training, just a little bit.

PS- Go ask any of your friends who don't vault who Yelena Isanbayeva is.
