Again, for those who don't have the webcast, the IAAF is doing live coverage at

http://www.iaaf.org/live/flash/live.html

Click the Pole Vault tab

I'll try to post what's happening in here as best I can, but I got in trouble for watching the webcast at work yesterday, so I'll have to be a bit more secretive about it today.
PoleVaultPlanet is coming.....

Bar goes to 4.60. Five competitors remain. Hamackova and Pyrek have one scratch each. Isinbayeva is clean. Gao and Polnova could use an early clear if they want a medal.

Isinbayeva with a first attempt make at 4.60, no surprise there. Miss for Hamackova. Gao misses. Clear for Pyrek. She moves into second, ahead of Hamackova. Polnova misses.

Second Attempts. It's a battle for third place.

Hamackova misses. Gao or Polnova need to clear if they want third. Miss for Gao. As well as Polnova.

Final Attempts.

Hamackova is done. But currently sits third. Gao is out. She'll finish 5th. Polnova misses. So Hamackova gets the Bronze.

Big Jump up in height. From 4.70 to 5.01, 31 centimeters - about 12 inches or so.

Strange that Yelena didn't try to break the Feofanova's championship record of 4.75 first.

Miss on her first. Her first miss of the day.

Second Attempt CLEAR!
